Nervous System

There are two parts to the nervous system, the central and peripheral. The central nervous system is composed of the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system consists of the nerves in the extremities.

There are four plexuses of the nervous system.

-Cervical Lumbar-Spinal nerves C1-C4. Includes the head, neck, upper chest, shoulders.

-Brachial Plexus- Spinal nerves C5-T1- Shoulder through fingers.

-Lumbar Plexus- Spinal Nerves L1-L4- Abdomen, groin, genetalia, antero-lateral thigh.

-Sacral Plexus- Spinal nerves L4-S4- Posterior thigh, lower leg, ankle , foot.

Sensory nerve cells send impules to the spinal cord and brain, and motor nerve cells carry impulses from the spinal cord and brain to respond to the impulse. The burn that we feel during exersice comes from the central nervous system.
