Crestor Section

Crestor is a drug that lowers total cholesterol levels in users. It has been proven to reduce the amounts of LDL cholesterol, and raise the good cholesterol (HDL). Lowering cholesterol reduces the risk of heart attack and stoke. People that have thyroid problems, kidney problems, blood disorders and muscular disease should speak with their doctor about problems that could arise while taking this drug. Women that may become pregnant should use caution as this drug could cause birth defects. It is possible that your doctor may want to monitor your liver while on this medication.

Crestor is somewhat controversial. It’s claim is that is can lower cholesterol faster than the other drugs on the market. One problem though is some believe that Crestor is more likely to cause health problems. Right now Crestor is available is doses of 5mg through 40mg. The 80mg dose was not approved do to side effect risks. Muscle problems as well as liver problems are the biggest side effects linked to Crestor.
