Respitory System
Primary functions of the repiratory system: Supplies oxygen throughout
the body, gets rid of carbon dioxide, regulates the body's ph balance.
There are three main stages of respiration. The first stage is the exchange
of gases within the lungs large capillaries (external respiration). The
next stage is internal respiration which is the exchange of gases between
the cells and blood. The next stage of respiration is cellular respiration
which is metabolic activity within the cells that use oxygen and makes
carbon dioxide..
Steps of the Respiration Process
Air is breath in through the nostrils-passes through the nasal cavities.
Next it goes to the pharynx then to the larynx then to the trachea. The
trachea divides into the left and right bronchi. The bronchi's branch
out many times until it finally get to the broncioles. That is where the
exchange of gasses between the blood and the lungs occur. The final process
of the respiratory system happens to the lungs.
